Margate Animal Hospital offers a full range of dental health services. Your pet’s teeth and gums should be checked at least once a year by your veterinarian to keep your pet’s mouth healthy. Poor oral hygiene can cause bad breath, difficulty eating, painful infections, tooth loss, permanent bone loss, and other serious systemic health issues such as kidney and heart disease. To prevent future health problems, our veterinary staff  will do a thorough examination of your pet’s gums and tooth root health. If a dental procedure is needed, we can provide your pet with anesthesia to minimize pain and avoid stress. Also, anesthesia allows for better cleaning because your pet is not moving around and risking injury from the dental equipment. Veterinary dentistry includes:
